Latinos Unidos (LUNA)

Latinos Unidos (LUNA)

What They Do:

Break down barriers that divide humanity by bonding immigrants to their community to make a better world through peace, justice, and dignity for all. Provide services for the under-served Napa Latino and immigrant communities of all ethnicities and creeds. Educate them and defend their rights and those of their families.

Latinos Unidos holds informational meetings and workshops, inviting knowledgeable speakers to give information and guidance. They educate, advocate for, and empower the Latino and immigrant communities through public walks, celebrations, and coalition groups. They work with local officials, churches, law enforcement, and politicians. They are a positive, active force for insuring dignity, peace, and respect for the voiceless and the isolated. They give scholarships when funds make that possible.

Latinos Unidos farms a 3/8+ acre garden at Covenant Presbyterian Church that grows food to give to anyone in the Latino community who is frail, elderly, struggling economically, or unsupported.

Other Ways to Help:

  • Help in the garden.
  • Provide event security.
  • Organize events and workshops.
  • Take brochures to the fields and schools.

Business Partners:

Our thanks to Precision Translations and Covenant Gardens for providing matching funds to LUNA through the Give!Guide.

They helped me understand my rights. It is confusing when you are new to Napa and sometimes we get the wrong information from each other. I feel secure and happy after their workshops.
