Napa CASA, A Voice For Children

What They Do:

Make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children in Napa County. Provide critical advocacy, support, and mentorship to children in the foster care system ages newborn to 18. CASA also provides positive relationships with a responsible adult. This is the single most important factor influencing a positive outcome for children in foster care.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is the only program in Napa County that serves abused and neglected children. CASA advocates for and supports children who are dependents of the court for their
safety and protection.

CASA fulfills a critical role by providing advocacy, support, and mentorship for children newborn to age 18. CASA volunteers are often the only consistent person in the child’s life throughout the time the child is in foster care.

During my five years in foster care, I had more than a dozen social workers and foster parents. My CASA, Sally, was the anchor I desperately needed to stay in school. Today I am a civilian police officer and college student. I am living proof that CASA changes kids’ lives.
