On The Move: VOICES

On The Move: VOICES

What They Do:

Help nearly 2000 emancipating youth successfully transition out of foster care, group homes, mental health treatment, and probation into independent adulthood.

Programs support college and career readiness, housing and independent living skills, health and wellness, youth leadership and advocacy.

VOICES wants every youth to feel capable, lovable, and worthy.

They provide a healthy, welcoming and lively community center where transitioning foster youth have access to comprehensive housing, education, employment, and wellness services. The Center offers laundry services, warm meals, winter clothing, emotional support, peer-to-peer coaching, and other basic human needs services.

VOICES also focuses on youth leadership, empowerment, and action. By providing leadership opportunities that challenge communities, VOICES youth and staff can work toward building better and more innovative systems to support youth, caregivers, and professionals.

Other Ways to Help:

VOICES youth are always in need of gift cards (Walmart, Target, Safeway, gas cards, etc. in increments of $20) as well as bus passes.

Other needed items include:

  • Umbrellas, rain boots, rain jackets, rain ponchos
  • Underwear (men’s boxers M, LG, XL)
  • Baby pull-ups and wipes, razors, feminine hygiene products (tampons), hair brushes, deodorant
  • Food-to-go bags for homeless youth
  • New adult-size socks (No kids’ socks, please)
  • Phone chargers, headphones,
  • Cases of water
  • Books of stamps

Items may be dropped off:  780 Lincoln Ave, Napa

My successes are because of the support I received from people at VOICES and the philosophy that makes On The Move programs so impactful. Without a doubt, VOICES changed the course of my life.
