Robert Louis Stevenson Museum
What They Do:
House and care for the largest publicly displayed collection dedicated to Robert Louis Stevenson, author of classics such as Treasure Island and Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Through educational programs, public events, and creative installations, the RLSM celebrates the story of Robert Louis Stevenson with Napa Valley and the world.
Nestled in St. Helena, the RLSM and its collection are visited by scholars and writers from around the world. The influence of RLS’s work can be found internationally, most noticeably here in Napa Valley.
Honeymooning in 1880, Stevenson found inspiration in the burgeoning wine region. His reflections and writings on the landscape and “bottled poetry” of the Napa Valley have rooted him in the terroir of our history and, with support, his legacy and influence can be ensured to continue into the future.
